I have received grants from Art Matters, the Aaron Siskind Foundation, the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation, and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
My work was published in the historical survey American Photographs: 1900-2000 and has been reproduced or reviewed in Blind Spot, Visionaire, the New York Times, Exit magazine, the Washington Post, and the Village Voice, among other publications.
Education and Teaching
I received an MFA in Painting from the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and prior to that, a BA in Philosophy from Oberlin College.
I have taught at the International Center of Photography, Parsons School of Design, and Cooper Union. In 2003 - 2004, I was a Visiting Professor at Ohio University, in both the BFA and Masters Programs. I have been a Visiting Artist at Kansas State University and Centro de la Imagen, Mexico City.
